Happy New Year!  After watching the Rose Bowl Parade all morning, my kiddos have decided to put in Pitch Perfect!  I'm not so much a T.V. or movie buff, but from my understanding it's quite hysterical! (Yea...I know, I'm probably the only person that has never watched this movie!)  Because January 1st is a day of new beginnings, what better day to begin my first {Currently} link up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

Listening:  I am listening to Fat Amy match pitch as some girls try to recruit her to come to an audition! #ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Loving:  I am loving how I do not have anywhere to go today; therefore, I have the pleasure of staying in my PJs and Ugg Slippers as long as I want!  The fact that I do not have to put on a stitch of makeup or worry about my wicked bedhead delights me more than you will ever know! :)

Thinking:  How sad it is that I will have to set those alarms for Monday morning, and how I don't want this winter break to end!  It's been so nice having my daughter that attends Louisiana Tech University home for the break!  #mynestiscomplete

Wanting:  Someone to go up to my school and run my January Work on Writing and Word Work printables and my other winter and Happy New Year activities for my Daily 5 stations and bellringers!

Needing:  To seriously go brush my teeth!  There's just something about mixing toothpaste and coffee, and I can't do it until I've put the cup of Joe down!  (Super thankful I'm not having to be up close and personal with anyone right now!)

One Little Word:  My goals are to concentrate greatly on my blog in 2016!  After attending the Teachers Pay Teachers Conference in Vegas last summer, I want to discover the power of blogging and how it is aligns to increasing traffic to my TPT Store!  The seminars were fabulous and super encouraging, but at that time, my Facebook page and Instagram seemed to be the only things I could manage and still make products...oh yea, and teach my second graders!

Thanks for your visit!  Are you planning on attending the 2016 TPT Conference?  If so, please leave me a comment, and lets try to meet this summer!

Lots of love from Louisiana and best wishes to you in 2016...
Kelly Avery

  1. I'm so glad I found your blog today! We have waaay too much in common! My daughter is home from college too and it has been so nice bonding with her. I also want to get better at blogging consistently when I'm not busy building my empire and teaching my 2nd graders, lol. I am so with you on the bedhead, no make up, pajama wearing all day! I have perfected the messy bun this week. And seriously, someone needs to make clothing that feels like pajamas but looks professional so we can wear it to school. Then life would be almost perfect! Have an awesome 2016 and I'd love to meet you this summer but the hubs talked me into going on a cruise instead of the TpT conference.

    1. Ahhh! Cruising is my favorite! It's absolutely the best bang for your buck when your talking about the whole family! We live in Louisiana, so we can "catch the boat" in New Orleans or Galveston which makes it nice not to have the expense of airfare! Where does your daughter go to college?

    1. So proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone!! I can't believe I flew to Vegas all by myself to attend the conference last summer without knowing a soul! I only wish I lived close enough to attend the regional conference! Lots of love from Louisiana, and best wishes to you in 2016!

  3. I'd love to go to the TpT conference...but I am working on another conference for this summer. Maybe next year's TpT conference. Another fun thing to add to my bucket list! Ha. I love Pitch Perfect, enjoy watching it.

    1. Awe! It is truly phenomenal! There were so many conferences that were going on in Vegas at the same time the TPT conference was! I wish I could have attended them all! I'm not that good at multitasking, so blogging and trying to watch a movie has not been so much as a success! Oh, well.....perhaps I'll get to really WATCH it one day! :)

  4. I love your blog name - do you live near Avery Island? We have good friends named McIlhenny who are distantly related to the hot sauce family. I agree that PJ days are the best! Good luck with your goals!

    1. Well....actually I live in Bossier City which is located in the northwest corner of the "boot", but with my last name being Avery and Tabasco being a quite a staple in Louisiana, I decided to play on that! Thank you so much though, and best wishes to you in 2016!
